Rollercoaster Tycoon Showcase: Magic Mirror on The Wall...
You must forgive me for not posting as of late, because of technical difficulties. But on to the exhibition, I sure do like creating Disney park rides on my RollerCoaster Tycoon 2. And while I'm contemplating about starting a blog or an online photo album of my creations I would like to present an under rated ride in my opinion, my version of "Snow White's Scary Adventure".
Here is my version of the old FantasyLand exterior that was done like an old faire.
And here's the interior. ( I take the inside seriously) with walls.
And the remodeled exterior (maybe that was an older refurbishment.)
And here is the current exterior done as an old walled European village.
("Snow White's Scary Adventure" and "Rollercoaster Tycoon 2" are Disney and Atari)

Videogame Showcase: Batman Handheld games
In this exhibit, I would like to present a couple of Batman handheld games by Tiger Electronics.
Now Tiger Electronics made handheld games in the late 1980's and the 1990's. I am unsure if they make games any more.
Now the two games are based off of the the two movies : Batman (1989) and Batman Returns (1992). I also have Batman games for the Nintendo Entertainment System and the Super Nintendo, and I will post those sometime in the future.

Christmas Memories: A Christmas Tree
Good afternoon, Today is a Christmas themed exhibition. This Porcelain tree features plastic lights, and is illuminated by a lightbulb inside.

This tree was probably made in the 1950's or 1960's, perhaps even earlier. It was difficult to photograph at the angle I had planned. Here it is lit up from the inside with the room lights off.

If anyone has any further information out there about trees like this, drop me a line and let me know. Now here is a video first with the room light off, and then on for a few seconds.

Holy Magazine Collection!!!: Dracula, The Complete Vampire
Good afternoon, I have a special exhibition. Since many blogs have been wishing Irish author, Bram Stoker a happy birthday on November 8th, I have decided to contiue with that theme.
On this day, Friday the 13th, 1992, the movie "Bram Stoker's Dracula" was released (or some could say unleashed) into theaters. It was this movie that made me a fan of character actor, Gary Oldman. But on to the exhibit, "Dracula : The Complete Vampire" published by Starlog Movie magazines in 1992, which was out about the same time as the Dracula movie.

This magazine covers the history of Dracula movies from the 1920's (Nosferatu) up until the release of "Bram Stoker's Dracula". It also includes how Bram Stoker came to write the novel, "Dracula"and included the story of Vlad The Impaler.

Halloween Post: A special Treat (No tricks)
Good evening, I have a special exhibition for this October night. There are some things that remind us of our youth and bring back memories of Halloween's long past. A certain magic was in the air on that autumn evening, and every time I see these next presentations, Those nights out in the cold come back to me. These were used as a window display along with the previous posts, Blow mold decorations and "Disco Witch".
Now this first piece is called "Jack O' Lantern Goblin" made by Beistle in the 1970's and was reissued this decade as a blacklight version. (This will be the blacklight version) In the 1980's it was reimagined as a pumpkin goblin with a witch hat. There was a series of goblins that were issued including, Witch Goblin, Skeleton Goblin, and Jack O' Lantern Goblin.
(some of you may recognize this decoration from "Halloween 3")

This next decoration is a Large Bat that is about 30" inches across and glows well under a blacklight. It is unknown which company issued this bat.

And now I will present my pumpkin mask from Hallmark stores, it was released as a series of masks in about 1984. The masks were : Vampire, Vampiress, Pumpkin, and Skull.
I have repainted this mask to be blacklight reactive, as the original paint was not in good shape.

Halloween Post: Old Halloween Decorations
Good Evening, for this special exhibition, May I present blow mold illuminated Halloween decorations from the late 1960's or early 1970's. Though my research is not complete, I believe one of them to be made by Empire Plastics.

This picture is from my Halloween decorations circa 2004. From the left to right is a pumpkin wearing a witch hat on top of corn stalks, in the middle is a porcelain black cat from the mid 1980's and on the end is a scarecrow. (Some of you sharp eyed patrons might see the legs from "Disco Witch" featured in a previous post). The decorations are iluuminated with standard C5 Christmas lights.
(I wanted to embed my video from my other myspace account, but for some reason it will not show up.)

Halloween Post: Monster Movies
Good evening, as this being October and there are many Halloween themed posts, I have decided to go with the flow. With that being said I would like to present Horror Movie books from the 70's
The first book in this Exhibit is "A Pictoral History of Horror Movies" by Denis Gifford
published by Hamlyn in 1973.

The front endpaper is " House of Wax" (1953) with Vincent Price

The second book is The Movie Treasury "Horror Movies" by Alan G. Frank published by Octopus books in the 1974.
The protective sleeve features a scene from "Dr. Terror's House of Horrors" (1964) featuring Peter Cushing on the front and the backside features a scene from "The Satanic Rites of Dracula" (1973) with Christopher Lee.

The front endpaper features another scene from "The Satanic Rites Of Draclula"(1973)

The title page features a scene from "Captain Clegg" aka "Night Creatures"(1962) with Peter Cushing.

And now for a bonus: "The House of Horror : The Story Of Hammer Films" published by The Third Press in 1973
The cover features the "Twins of Evil"(1971) poster

Holy Magazine Collection!!!
I know the 20th anniversary of "BATMAN" with Michael Keaton and Jack Nicholson was on June 23, but this post was delayed as it was too hot outside and I was distracted by the Ghostbusters game that just came out. But that is neither here nor there, so without further delay I present my collection of Starlog Batman movie covers.

This cover I could have uploaded on June 23. These Magazines date back to 1989

These covers date from 1992, and I wish I had presented them on the anniversary of Batman Returns, June 19th.

While not actually Starlog covers, Science Fiction Explorer and the Comics Scene Batman Forever special were published by the Starlog publishing group. I really wanted to put this up on June 16th.
Well this concludes today's exhibit, and I will continue to search far and wide for the next presentation.
(Starlog is published by Starlog Entertainment Company, Batman is Published By DC Comics, and BATMAN, Batman Returns, & Batman Forever were released by Warner Brothers)

40 years of The Haunted Mansion
Let's see if I can borrow a line and say " I'll be your host, your Post host (chuckle)" and let me say what an influence the Haunted Mansion has been. I wonder how many Halloween displays have been influenced after people went on it. But there was a time when I was not so fond of this attraction.
In my youth, my friends and I would talk about HM, one even went to ride it, but the impression we had is: The Haunted Mansion was the scariest ride EVER!! And if you rode it, you would have nightmares for weeks and weeks and have to sleep with the lights on, we even had a rumor of non-existent scene that included a funeral for an old woman lifting up to the great beyond and only her skeleton would return to earth. (It did'nt help after watching the Disneyland 30th anniversary special that had a segment on the Haunted Mansion showing scenes and having a young Drew Barrymore describe how scary it was either)But after riding it, it wasn't that bad, maybe a little enjoyable. There are plenty of sites that cover the history of the Haunted Mansion, and I guess it goes to show how many people enjoy the mansion. Now let's view my gallery of Haunted Mansion tributes.
