Christmas Memories: A Christmas Tree

Good afternoon, Today is a Christmas themed exhibition. This Porcelain tree features plastic lights, and is illuminated by a lightbulb inside.

This tree was probably made in the 1950's or 1960's, perhaps even earlier. It was difficult to photograph at the angle I had planned. Here it is lit up from the inside with the room lights off.

If anyone has any further information out there about trees like this, drop me a line and let me know. Now here is a video first with the room light off, and then on for a few seconds.

Halloween Post: A special Treat (No tricks)

Good evening, I have a special exhibition for this October night. There are some things that remind us of our youth and bring back memories of Halloween's long past. A certain magic was in the air on that autumn evening, and every time I see these next presentations, Those nights out in the cold come back to me. These were used as a window display along with the previous posts, Blow mold decorations and "Disco Witch".

Now this first piece is called "Jack O' Lantern Goblin" made by Beistle in the 1970's and was reissued this decade as a blacklight version. (This will be the blacklight version) In the 1980's it was reimagined as a pumpkin goblin with a witch hat. There was a series of goblins that were issued including, Witch Goblin,  Skeleton Goblin, and Jack O' Lantern  Goblin.

(some of you may recognize this decoration from "Halloween 3")

This next decoration is a Large Bat that is about 30" inches across and glows well under a blacklight. It is unknown which company issued this bat.

And now I will present my pumpkin mask from Hallmark stores, it was released as a series of masks in about 1984. The masks were : Vampire, Vampiress, Pumpkin, and Skull.

I have repainted this mask to be blacklight reactive, as the original paint was not in good shape.

Halloween Post: Old Halloween Decorations

Good Evening, for this special exhibition, May I present blow mold illuminated Halloween decorations from the late 1960's or early 1970's. Though my research is not complete, I believe one of them to be made by Empire Plastics.

This picture is from my Halloween decorations circa 2004. From the left to right is a pumpkin wearing a witch hat on top of corn stalks, in the middle is a porcelain black cat from the mid 1980's and on the end is a scarecrow. (Some of you sharp eyed patrons might see the legs from "Disco Witch" featured in a previous post). The decorations are iluuminated with standard C5 Christmas lights.
(I wanted to embed my video from my other myspace account, but for some reason it will not show up.)

Nostalgia Post: She's A Dancin' Dancin' Dancin' Machine!!!

This is the first exhibit, a Halloween decoration from about 1976, made by the Beistle company. Other than that I know little about it, that's why I call her "Disco Witch". Does anybody have any further info?
(UPDATE!!! Thanks to Spookshows.com at http://www.spookshows.com/ for some information, apparently this witch is a 70's update to an older design, and that can be seen here:
